Old School RuneScape: Temple of the Eye Quest Walkthrough

Dec-24-2024 PST Category: runescape

The Temple of the Eye quest is a pivotal step in unlocking the Guardians of the Rift minigame, which is an exciting new way to train your Runecrafting skill in Old School RuneScape. Not only will you gain access to this minigame, but you'll also receive valuable rewards, including exclusive gear, talismans, and even an Abyssal Protector pet. This quest is relatively short and easy, with few requirements, making it accessible to most players. It also provides 5,000 Runecrafting XP, which helps you toward the Guardians of the Rift requirement of level 27 Runecrafting.

Requirements

Skills:

Level 10 Runecrafting

Completed the Enter the Abyss quest (which requires the Rune Mysteries quest).

Items:

Bucket of Water

Chisel

Pickaxe

Getting Started

Talk to Wizard Persten

Head to Al Kharid and speak with Wizard Persten, located near the pool of water in the northern part of the city. She'll show you an Eye Amulet and ask for your help in uncovering its origins. The quest will begin here as you agree to help.

Obtain the Abyssal Incantation

You'll need to visit a Mage of Zamorak in Varrock. Here's how you prepare for the meeting:

Bucket of Water (you should already have it).

Tea: Obtain a Strong cup of tea from the Tea Seller near the eastern entrance of Varrock.

Speak to the Mage of Zamorak

Head to the Altar of Zamorak in the southeastern corner of Varrock. After giving the Mage the bucket of water and the tea, he'll transport you to the Abyss.

The Abyss and the Dark Mage

Dark Mage and Runic Energy Puzzle

Once in the Abyss, you'll find a Dark Mage. Talk to him, and you'll need to give him a wash with your Bucket of Water (yes, really). Afterward, he'll begin the spell but will require your help to identify the correct order of six Runic Energies surrounding the room. The order is random for each player, and clicking the wrong energy resets the puzzle. You'll need some trial and error, but eventually, you'll figure it out.

Receive the Abyssal Incantation

After solving the puzzle, the Dark Mage will give you the Abyssal Incantation, but you'll need to seek out some wizards to help decipher it.

The Wizards' Tower Puzzle

Return to Wizard Persten

Head back to Al Kharid and talk to Wizard Persten again. She'll send you to Archmage Sedridor in the Wizards' Tower for further help.

Helping Archmage Sedridor

Once in the basement of the Wizards' Tower, talk to Sedridor, who will agree to help you understand the incantation. However, he'll need your help solving a puzzle. This puzzle requires you to find three apprentices of Wizard Traiborn within the tower, each of whom holds a clue for solving the puzzle. Once you gather all the clues, the solution is 11. After you present this solution, the apprentices will assist you.

Entering the Rift

Incantation Cast and the Underwater Temple

With the puzzle solved, you return to Sedridor who will cast the incantation, transporting you to an underwater temple. In a dramatic cutscene, you'll learn that Wizard Persten has been swallowed by a rift and presumed lost.

The Guardians of the Rift Minigame

Your task now is to help the Great Guardian close the rift to prevent abyssal entities from entering. This serves as the tutorial for the Guardians of the Rift minigame. After helping close the rift, you learn that Persten is lost, and the minigame is formed as a result.

Return to Sedridor

Exit through the portal and inform Sedridor about what happened. This will complete the quest.

Rewards

1 Quest Point

5,000 Runecrafting XP

Medium Pouch for Runecrafting

Access to the Guardians of the Rift minigame

Conclusion

The Temple of the Eye quest is relatively quick but essential for unlocking the Guardians of the Rift minigame, a great way to train Runecrafting while also earning valuable rewards. After completing this quest, you'll have access to fun, interactive gameplay, and some great loot opportunities while training your Runecrafting.
